As an electric cooperative, Benton REA is a member owned not-for-profit business. There are more than 75 million people in the US who are members of cooperatives. Cooperatives encourage people to help themselves by following seven cooperative principles. It’s the way we have been serving our members since 1937. Benton REA provides electric service throughout Benton, Yakima counties and Lewis counties, stretching from the Tri-Cities to the top of White Pass. As a cooperative, Benton REA is owned by the members it serves. Benton REA is also governed by the members, as nine members represent their respective districts as a Trustee on the Board.
