We have been awarded one of four new professional contracts to support delivery of the Government Property Agency's Workplace Services Projects. Rand Watkins, GPA Client Director at AtkinsRéalis, said the new contract builds on our deep and strategic partnership with the GPA, having worked on the decarbonisation of the government office portfolio since 2021. Our digital teams have taken part in technical showcases at EDF (UK) Hinkley Point C recently to demonstrate some of the technology and software that’s helping to securely capture and visualise data at major projects, from the use of drones and robotic dogs to monitor sites, to the VR technology and immersive rooms that bring the data to life for remote teams. This virtual site access is just one of the ways that data and technology is helping to drive efficiency, safety and sustainability across the nuclear life cycle. Over the weekend, National Highways implemented crucial improvements to the M25, requiring its first full closure since completion in 1986. AtkinsRéalis, in collaboration with National Highways, Balfour Beatty plc and supply chain partners, ensured the success of this milestone through a combination of high-quality design and construction planning. The closure facilitated the demolition of the Clearmount bridleway bridge and the installation of the UK's heaviest motorway gantry. Weighing 128 tonnes and spanning 63 metres (equivalent to the length of six double-decker buses), the gantry is a testament to innovative engineering achieved by an innovative, automated design tool. Additional closures are planned as this project continues, but the public has shown patience and understanding. #M25 #M25Improvements #infrastructure #highways

Working with Spains Hall Estate, we have worked to reintroduce beavers to East Anglia, reducing flood and drought impact over five years. Facts about the beaver family: 🏞️ In 2019, the first pair of beavers were released in East Anglia for the first time in more than 400 years 🌲They roam a 10-acre woodland stream 🌊They've built nine dams storing 3 million litres of water 🌳This covers a quarter of the woodland This collaboration demonstrates the impact of nature-based solutions in tackling climate challenges. We've been appointed by the UK's Nuclear Waste Services Geological Disposal Facility to support their mission to make nuclear permanently safer, sooner.
